The student representative team of the 2020/21 school year are Julius Luft, Elisa Scheibe, Frédéric Beckmann, Minh Anh Doan, Cäcilia Plötner, Vincent Weber (from left to right).
As student representatives, we represent the student body in the school’s committees and boards. We are always available to answer questions and welcome any suggestions. This year, we are supported in our tasks by two liaison teachers, Mrs. Gräfe and Mr. Windheuser.
A central area of responsibility is the management of the weekly meeting of the class and course representatives as well as the organization of the work of the entire student council. For example, we support the committees in the implementation of their projects.
For our work this year we have set ourselves two main focuses: waste separation and the 24-hour run. Besides these, we will of course continue the popular lower and middle school parties, teacher evaluations, and various smaller initiatives, such as the St. Nicholas or Maypole campaign.
Committees
To make the work of the student council on Nonnenwerth more effective, the class and course representatives on this year’s SV-Fahrt have come together to form six committees.
In the following section, please see the current committees and their respective areas of responsibility.
Podcast Committee
The podcast commitee has set itself the task of producing a school-owned podcast. At regular intervals, new results are to be produced, on the one hand about innovations in our school life and on the other hand with topics which are not necessarily dealt with in everyday life at school or which the students want. The right of the pupils to have a say in this matter is of great importance.
Through the action commitee, Nonnenwerth traditions continue to be maintained. The action committee deals with actions within schools, such as the St. Nicholas action or the rose action on Valentine´s Day. Among other things the action committee is responsible for panel discussions and job fairs.
Environment Committee
The main objective of this committee is to ensure that we on our island continue to protect our environment and keep it clean. A step in this direction has already been taken by our new waste separation concept, which was introduced last year. In order to go one step further, we would like to extend this concept to include a bio-waste and a bio-compost.
Transparency Committee
In order to create even more transparency throughout school life, this committee has set itself the task of improving the flow of information and the link between school management, the college and the student community. By increasing our presence in school, social media and other platforms, we want to bring the topics that are dealt with in school, closer to the student and respond to the wished and concerns of all students.
Anti-Bullying Committee
The anti-bullying committee is dedicated to preserving our school community and trying to solve the problems associated with bullying. To this end, Solidary Island is to be reintroduced and revived. The principle is that younger students can contact older students who are part of Solidary Islands at any time. Through a familiar environment and a familiar atmosphere, it offers students the opportunity to open up. In addition, prevention work is to be introduced through seminars and meetings aimed not only at pupils, but also at teachers.
